Start trekking from Sankaber campsite, covering about 10 km in approximately 6 hours. Follow the spectacular escarpment, encounter gelada baboons, and reach Jinbar Falls. End the day in Gich village with a coffee prepared by locals. Overnight near the village.
Trek for around 8 hours covering 12 km, including a short detour to Imet Gogo (3925 m) for stunning views. Spot lammergeyer, thick-billed ravens, giant lobelia, and endangered Walia ibex. Overnight at Chennek campsite.
Hike 14 km in at least 7 hours, ascending Bwahit Pass (4200 m) and descending to Mesheha River valley (2800 m). Enjoy first glimpses of Ras Dashen and possibility of spotting Ethiopian wolves. Overnight at Ambiko campsite.
Trek 8 km to the summit of Ras Dashen (4533 m), taking roughly 5 hours. Celebrate reaching Ethiopia's highest peak. Return to Ambiko for overnight stay (3.5 hours descent).
Descend back into known areas, either walking to Chiro Leba (4 hours) for vehicle pickup or continuing the trek to Chennek for another night among giant lobelias. Enjoy the landscapes and wildlife along the way.
Follow a new path to reach Sankaber, covering roughly 20 km in about 7 hours. Option to camp under the stars at Sankaber, stay at Simien Lodge, or drive out to Debark.
